I love looking at old photos of my hometown. And, I love photography. So I decided to combine them in an ongoing project that I'm calling the "Past & Present Project" for Greene County, PA starting with Waynesburg. You may have seen these types of photos before but I'm trying to take it a step further by deconstructing the original photo to see how it was shot. From there, I do my best to get the same angle, same perspective, focal length of lens, and even trying to stand in the exact same spot as the original photographer. Ben again I would like to say thank you for sharing this project. I like you and so many others love looking at old pictures. It is really great when you can look at the then and now and compare the changes that have been made through the years. Please keep up the great work.

Excellent photography idea of old and new. I love looking at your photos. I was born in Waynesburg, 1947. My mother , Ruth Ann Hoskinson Penn, was born there in 1916. My Waynesburg roots go WAY back and I have relatives still living in Waynesburg... Bryan and Heasley. I grew up in suburb of Pittsburgh and then family moved to Miami, FL.

Is photo 3 in part 8 the old Boron gas station? It sure looks like it. I worked there while in high school. Thanks for sharing these projects.

Yes, that was the old "BORON", headed up with our old friend Bob Elliott. I worked there, as well, in 1964, '65' & 66. With e"ach purchase customers would receive "cash-in--flash" and S & H Green Stamps." Those are the good times.

Having grown up here in the 60's, this project was a joy to go through. What a beautiful town we have!
