Taking a lengthy and expensive step-by-step course may work for some but If you are like me, you learn by doing. That's why I started a one-on-one mentorship photography program customized just for you and your skill level that speeds up the learning process. No need to waste time learning things you will never use.

A LITTLE ABOUT MEIn 1999 I started down my own path to become a professional full-time photographer. I currently own McMillen Photography which employs multiple photographers and editors. Weddings, family portraits, and commercial work have become my passion. I am also well versed in product photography, landscapes, and sports photography.
I lived and worked through the transition of film cameras to digital which I ecstatically embraced. Being able to see your shots as you take them really changes the way young photographers learn. That itself is why I focus on customized training sessions depending on your skill level rather that start everyone at the same place in a rigid learning environment. |
WHO ARE THESE CLASSES FOR
Perfect for anyone of any age and skill level. Maybe you're a beginner who wants to capture landscapes with your first camera or an advanced photographer wanting to break into the wedding and portrait business. I can help you reach your goals.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your classes will either be held in our family's coffee shop event room or online over zoom. We will focus on what your goals are as a photographer and work within your current skill level. I won't waste your time. There is no shame in starting with the very basics. I will have you taking better photos in no time. And for those more advanced we will tailor a more challenging course that will seriously step up your game. We also have options for on-location learning outside the studio as you advance.
WHAT YOU NEED
Pretty much any digital camera with manual control (M Mode). This can be a traditional DSLR or a newer mirrorless camera. You will at least need a camera with interchangeable lenses. Even if you only have one lens, that's ok. You don't need the latest and greatest. Don't go out and spend money on new gear if you already have something you can start with. A basic tripod will also be needed if you wish to shoot landscapes.

COSTS
Most mentorship sessions are held in our coffee shops event room (RGB Coffee). Each session is customized to each students goals and skill level. Options for leaving the studio for location learning may also be available. Combining multiple sessions back to back is also an option.
