My Wife an I are both wedding and portrait photographers. So who takes our photos? We just do it ourselves. I personally love the challenge of getting all the gear to work remotely while still pulling off some decent images. We usually end up wanting to kill each other at some point but the end result is always worth it. After the photos below I will give a brief description on how we photograph these sessions by ourselves. I'll even include some bloopers! If you are interested in my wife or I doing your family portraits contact us for more info. Here is how we shot it EQUIPMENT NIKON D750 85mm 1.4G Lens ND FILTER TRIPOD EXPLOR 600 STROBE with a medium softbox FLASHPOINT R2 STROBE TRANSMITTER SETTINGS 1/200 Shutter Speed 100 ISO F2 STROBE 1/8 POWER THE SETUP Camera and strobe were set to manual. We shot this at mid day which the sunlight is at it's worst. To fix this we added in for fill a high powered battery operated strobe. Wireless R2 transmitter triggers the strobe. We used a variable ND filter to allow us to shoot at F2-2.8 and still keep the shutter speed at/under 1/200 which is our max sync speed for the strobe. We underexposed the image with natural light and then correctly exposed with the strobe. Then we set the shutter timer and run around like crazy people. My wife and I do our best to shoot images how we like them with very little editing outside of exposure control and color balance. Basically, I hate editing. That's it! AND NOW THE BLOOPERS! One thing about doing our own photos... lots of bloopers! BOOK YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION WITH US! Contact us for more info
